Our founder Hayley is known as The Off-Grid Accountant
This stems from living (and working ) off-grid.
What do we mean by “off-grid”?
Well in short no connections to any utility services.
Electricity is provided by their own on-site wind turbine and solar panels.
Water by the on-site well.
There is a coal fire and oil fired heating and a septic tank for waste.
A back-up generator for emergencies and a 4G sim card for the internet.
It was by chance, in a way rather than design. It just so happened that Hayley along with her husband John, fell in love with a property that was off-grid.
And not being ones to shy away from a challenge they have been embracing this off-grid lifestyle for the past few years.
The great thing about this way of living is that we have become more environmentally friendly both at home and work.
Sustainability has become really important to us. At the end of day we have one planet, and if everyone on that planet did a little to support it’s longevity it would add up to a lot.
We were proud to achieve our ESG mark in 2024 and continue to look at ways to actively support being environmentally friendly and sustainable.
As Corbar Accounting is run from the on-site farm office many of our services are provided by the power of the wind and the sun.
We also have our very own client forest (every client that works with us has a tree planted for them).
And we’re excited to be looking at more ways to be sustainable in coming year.
We are proudly ESGmark® certified.
This shows we have demonstrated a high level of performance against ESG principles and are committed to ongoing positive change.
Every month we release our Off-Grid Diaries in our monthly newsletter, be the first to read it by signing up below.
